The Supreme Court, Peshawar bench Thursday upheld the verdict of services tribunal for dismissing a traffic police constable from his service following the red-handed arrest by the DIG for openly taking bribe.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan and Justice Nasirul Mulk, after hearing arguments, dismissed the reinstatement appeal of Anwar Taj, resident of Mardan.

The petitioner's counsel contended that his client had rendered ten years service with dedication and no currency notes were recovered from his possession. He prayed before the court to reinstate his client1, which was turned down by the court.

The prosecution rejected arguments and submitted that accused Anwar Taj was red handed arrested by DIG and driver Saleh Muhammad and Askar Khan, a security guard, were the witness of the incident. He prayed before the court to dismiss appeal of the petitioner.
